Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding the path to optimal cardiovascular health intelligence.

About 3 Billion Beats

3 Billion Beats is a health intelligence technology platform focused specifically on cardiovascular insights. We specialize in identifying the potential root causes of cardiovascular risk through advanced data analysis.

We utilize 50+ advanced biomarkers (including ApoB, Lp(a), inflammation markers, and insulin resistance tests) combined with AI analysis to understand the patterns behind *why* risk factors may be developing. Our goal is to provide unparalleled health intelligence and education.

This is a critical point. Research indicates that 75% of heart attack victims have "normal" LDL cholesterol levels according to standard panels. Standard panels miss crucial information like LDL particle size, Lp(a) (a genetic risk factor), and underlying inflammation.

Heart disease is often an immune and metabolic issue, not just a plumbing problem. Our analysis of advanced testing identifies these hidden risk factors.

Functional Cardiology is a framework that looks at the body as an interconnected system. Instead of just focusing on the heart in isolation, it examines how metabolism, inflammation, genetics, hormones, and nutrition impact cardiovascular health. It seeks to answer "why" the disease is occurring and aims to restore optimal function. Our platform utilizes this framework for its analysis.

How We Operate (Legal & Compliance)

No. 3 Billion Beats (3BB) is a healthcare technology company (MSO). We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our platform provides educational insights and data analysis.

No. Our platform is designed to empower you and your existing doctors with deeper intelligence about your health. You must maintain a relationship with a licensed physician for medical advice, diagnosis, and treatment.

All laboratory and medical services are provided by independent third parties.

3BB facilitates access to these services. Labs are ordered by independent, licensed clinicians. 3BB provides educational roadmaps based on data analysis; any medical treatment plans must come from a licensed provider.

No. Echo is an AI informational assistant designed strictly for educational purposes. It cannot interpret your specific lab results, diagnose conditions, or recommend treatments. Those are conversations you must have with a licensed physician.

Testing and Process

Once you select a package, we facilitate a lab requisition ordered by an independent clinician. You take this requisition to a partner laboratory (like Quest Diagnostics) for a blood draw.

Once the results are ready, they are securely uploaded to your 3 Billion Beats Health OS, where our AI platform analyzes the data. You will then receive a comprehensive educational report and personalized insights.

We analyze over 50 biomarkers. Key advanced markers include:

  • Advanced Lipids: ApoB, Lp(a), LDL Fractionation (particle size).
  • Inflammation: hs-CRP, MPO, Lp-PLA2, Fibrinogen.
  • Metabolic: Fasting Insulin, A1C, HOMA-IR calculation.
  • Nutrients: Vitamin D, B12, Homocysteine, Omega 3/6 panel.

For a complete list, please visit our What's Included page.

Yes. For the most accurate results, particularly for lipid and metabolic panels, it is typically required to fast for 10-12 hours before your blood draw. Water and black coffee are generally acceptable. Please follow the specific instructions provided with your lab requisition.

Pricing and Logistics

3 Billion Beats operates outside the traditional insurance model. This allows us to facilitate access to advanced tests that insurance companies often deem "not medically necessary" until after a cardiac event has occurred. We believe in proactive analysis.

Our packages are designed to be comprehensive with transparent pricing.

In many cases, yes. The advanced lab testing facilitated through our platform often qualifies for HSA/FSA reimbursement. We recommend checking with your specific plan administrator, but we will provide an itemized receipt that you can submit.

The frequency depends on your initial results and the optimization strategy you undertake with your physician. Generally, a comprehensive panel analysis is recommended annually. If significant interventions are made, follow-up analysis on key markers is often recommended 3-6 months later to track progress.
